Loud mouth
Do you have a child that doesn't know what indoor voices are like? Because I do. Sienna has been so LOUD lately. In grocery stores, outside and in my ear! I think she is discovering her voice but how do you explain to a 1 year old what it means to be quiet?
Late post - Easter
Easter was AMAZING this year. We could not of ask for better weather this weekend! It really was great to spend time with family and soak up some vitamin D!
Sienna actually slept in until 6:45AM on Sunday which was an added bonus! She went downstairs and found her Easter basket and began her hunt for the eggs in the house. I wish we could of taped it because she got so into it! We actually had to take eggs out of her basket when she wasn't looking and hide more. She loved it!
We then went to the Ostrom Easter Breakfast. Had some homemade delicious cinnamon rolls made by cousin Rachel, along with some quiche and ham and ended with bomb apple crisp! We enjoyed the food outside in the sunshine!
Off to the Turners for Easter dinner! We started with some early season signature Citrus Coolers made by Linda. Perfect for the warm day! We sat outside in the backyard enjoying the warm weather while Sienna napped. When she woke up and saw all the Easter eggs outside she couldn't wait for her cousins Dylan and Alex to get there she had to start immediately. It was so funny to watch her scurry around the yard pointing and oohing and ahhhing when she would notice a new egg. It was so fun!
We are still playing Easter egg hunt at our house and it takes a good 20 minutes off the day! She loves to find them hidden around the house!
Happy Easter to everyone! I hope yours was as good as ours was.

We're going to the Zoo
Zoo Zoo, you can come too, too, too!
We took Sienna to the Woodlawn Park Zoo for the first time ever in her life and the verdict is...she loved it! We knew she would because she loves animals but she got so excited when she saw the elephant that she almost jumped out of the stroller. It was a perfect time to go, not a lot of people and all the animals were easy to spot and close to the windows. We do know one thing, Sienna does not like it when the gorilla's do somersaults! She about climbed up on top of my head when the gorilla did that towards us!
All in all we had a successful trip and ended it with swinging at the park! We also bought a Zoo pass for the entire year. I think dad was the most excited about that! I foresee a trip to the zoo about once a week in the summertime. :)

Outside
Well, let's just say that Sienna would sleep outside if we let her! She is in love with exploring everything that outside has to offer. I love watching her face light up when she shows me some dirt and her "ooooh" face when she touches the grass. It is so amazing how she is so interested in the smallest things! She is now pulling us to the door and pointing that she wants out at all times of day (and cries when we don't let her out). I need to break it down to her that we do live in Seattle and that outside days are not usually until April or May. Luckily we have been fortunate to have nice days scattered throughout March! Our walks now take about 1/2 hour to go two houses up since she has to look at EVERYTHING. We also have a pond (water accumulation) down the street that has ducks and she absolutely loves to drive her car down there and look for the duckies. I can't wait until summer and she can really enjoy running the neighborhood with all the kids on the block!
Love you my little explorer of the outdoors!!!

Attachment issues...
These last couple of weeks Sienna has been quite clingy to momma...like if I leave the room to go to the bathroom it is like the world is ending and she has HUGE crocodile tears coming down her face. God love ya kid but can I please pee without you having a huge meltdown? I mean your dad is sitting right next to you and playing with you!! I am very flattered that you like me so much but it is getting kind of out of hand! I know I will probably want you to love me this much in like 15 years when you won't want anything to do with me so I guess I will savor this by writing it down on this blog to remember!
So how can we fix this?? Any ideas people?

1 Year Old.
Sienna! We made it!! Your dad and I kept you alive, eating, teaching, learning, crawling, sleeping, snuggling, blowing kisses, tickling, playing tag, blowing on everything, pointing at everything and loving on everything! I feel like I blinked and you were one!
Here is some stuff you have been up to:
Stats:
Weight: 19lbs 25%
Length: 30 inches 75-90%
Head: 17 3/4 inches 25-50%
Your doctor said you are moving right along and are a healthy strong little girl. She actually called you a toddler but I don't think I am ready to call you that yet. :)
Sienna,
You have blessed us in so many ways. We love you so much and you bring so much new excitement and joy to the world. You open our eyes to new and old things! Happy 1st year Sweets!
Here is some stuff you have been up to:
- You are now sort of sleeping thru the night from like 7PM to about 4-6AM with an occasional wake up at midnight or 2AM. But you have been really good about putting yourself back to sleep.
- You love to blow on everything and that helped you to successfully blow out your candle at your birthday party!
- You have expanded your vocabulary to include ccccc car
- You are in 12 month clothes and #5 diapers
- You still hate to have your clothes or diapers changed.
- You still love bath time
- You flew to California and stayed with Aunt Carolee, you loved it there!
- You really love kids and like to watch them play. Sometimes if we are in a store you will follow them around. (awkward) :)
- I think you have about 8 or 9 teeth now. We can tell you are getting more though!
- You still love peas, green beans and avocado. You are not a huge fan of food, we just got to keep trying things out.
- You love to read books and do a happy dance when we take the book from you to read it.
- You are a great dancer.
- You love to feed your stuffed animals, YOUR food.
- You have kind of been attached to mom for the last couple of weeks.
- You love animals and you and Hank are pretty good friends. :)
- You have really improved your soccer skills and kick the ball around the house.
- We are hoping that you will be confident enough to let go of our hands and walk on your own soon!
- You love to be outdoors and we can't wait for the nice weather to roll into the Pacific Northwest!
