Thankful.

This Thanksgiving I am so thankful for so many things but these in particular...

• Sienna Hope Turner
• My Hubby
• My Family
• My Friends
• and Maui

Keeping it simple.  Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and Hang Loose!!! :)

Just Dance

Sienna has started to dance and it is so hard to catch her on camera but I was able to catch a quick vid last night...

Love how little babes know that when they hear music they should dance orrrr maybe it could be the fact that I watched Ellen everyday on maternity leave...take your pick.  Either way she is a lil cutie pie!

P.S. she got her moves from Mickey...I will have to thank him when we take her to Disneyland for the first time!  Ha!

8 months

Sienna!!!  You are growing so much, so fast.  We love you more and more each day.  Sometimes me and your dad just look at each other and say "I really just love this kid."  You are starting to be so independent and we love watching you try new things.

Here is what you have been up to:

• You went to your first and second pumpkin patch.  You picked out your very first pumpkin at the Moses Lake Farm pumpkin patch.
• You made your first visit to Spokane.
• You did your first trick or treating as a kitty cat at Grandma & Grandpa T's for Halloween
• You learned how to wave hi and bye to people.  You now wave at everything, like cars passing by, birds, stuffed animals, etc.
• You said "Hi" to Dad, Grandma O, Kristin and Heather so we think you know what that means
• You would walk ALL. DAY. LONG. if you could.  You are practically running when you hold our hands when you walk.
• You dance when you hear music...which I love.  I haven't caught a good video on camera yet but I hope to soon.  You really love dancing with your Halloween Mickey from Shanny.
• Your top tooth is starting to come in so you have been pretty fussy on occasion
• You still do NOT like to sleep thru the night.  On a good night you wake up at 2AM and then 5AM otherwise anytime after midnight we can count on you to wake up every 1-2 hours.
• You love avocado, peas, chicken & rice but you aren't a fan of fruit yet.
• You are wearing 3 diapers but are getting ready to move to 4s
• You are wearing 6 mo clothes
• You don't like to put your clothes on and start to cry as soon as we start to dress you
• You are getting used to the rain & cold since you have had a pretty good start to your life with the nice weather we have had this year.

You are pretty much the best little thing in the world in our eyes.  We love you an insane amount!

Happy 8 Months!!!

Starting to fit in the chair

Ohhhhh...one of your favorite things to say

working on your flexibility

"Hi Momma"

big girl!

OH, How was your night last night?

Oh really, great.  Mine went a little something like this...

Sienna decided she didn't need her 3rd nap of the day and so I was really worried about what the night was going to have in store for us and boy was I right!  Here is the sequence of events:

6:30PM - She is asleep
10:00 PM - LT takes his NyQuil (aka a snore pill the makes you snore louder than you already do) and we both curl into bed
10:03 PM - She is awake and crying a little
10:05 PM - LT and I discuss how long we will let her cry it out, we decide on 10:45PM
10:30 PM - Sienna is screaming crying
10:45 PM - LT does the first round of consoling, the second he picks her up crying stops and nuzzles in to sleep, the second he puts her in her crib...screaming, picks her up she stops immediately, puts her back down and she cries.
11:26 PM - I walk over to her room and see if I can help, because who am I kidding...I am not sleeping either with the monitor blaring in my ear.
11:30 PM - I send LT back to bed and I try to get Sienna to sleep.
11:35 PM - I am laughing out loud, probably from being delirious and the fact that S is rambling on like it is 3PM in the afternoon wondering where the party is at and what she can play with next?
11:45 PM - We have a winner I can hear LT snoring in the other room and Sienna is asleep!  SCORE both asleep.  Now it is my turn.
11:47 PM - Not so fast.  I put S down in her crib...she wakes up SCREAMING.  I pick her back up and decide to feed her.
12:13 AM - Put her in her crib and YES she stays asleep.
12:14 AM - I am laying flat on my stomach on the floor trying not to be seen just in case she wakes up...I crawl out of the room to safety.
12:30 AM - I think I am asleep? :)
2:30 AM - Guess who's up???  Go in feed her and she once again is asleep.
5:00 AM - Guess who's up???  Go in and bring her into bed with me (i know...bad) I need some sleep!
7:00 AM - We are up for the day...I say "goodmorning Sienna!  Do you remember sleeping last night?  Because I don't. :)"  She smiles at me.

So we have tried multiple ways to try and have her sleep better but nothing seems to work.  We thought we had it down with the cry it out method but then she reverted when she got teeth.  Any suggestions would be great!  P.S. my mom said I wasn't a good sleeper until I was 2...for our sake and my sanity I hope Sienna is not like that!

This is where I wish I was...SLEEPING.

thx bing

Hawaii you are only 21 days away...

All you need is love...and a little red neck party!

These two lovebirds met at the annual summer Uphus "Redneck Yacht Club" party 3 years ago?? (I think?)  The party was just getting started and everyone had on their redneck best!  Jen and I were just talking and down the lawn walked Kalen.  I looked at Jen and said "that is 100% Jamie's type of guy!  We got to hook them up!" not knowing whether Kalen was even available.  Thankfully he was and they have been dating ever since!  Until August when Kalen popped the question and Jamie said "shut up...for real?  Yes!!" (and then covered her face with a scarf, inside joke, not really :))  Last weekend we went over to Liberty Lake to celebrate their engagement and it was a blast!  So fun to celebrate two great people!  We are so happy for you guys!!!

Here is there first dance ever on that fateful Redneck Night! :)

Fun pics from their engagement party...

Sienna even made an appearance...and slept thru the whole party!

Megan came up from San Diego!!

Don't stop the dance party over a broken glass...Steph has it covered!

Pass on the love...

Yesterday, I was running on empty.  Zero hours of sleep the night before, crazy work day and just wanting to be at home with my lil girl.  And then Meghan sent me this...

"Today may there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us."

It truly made me take a breath and say it is OK.

Pass on the love people!

Happy Friday.

Pumpkin patching

We took Sienna to her first pumpkin patch last Sunday!  She was in awe of everything around her.  Lots of stimulation for her to take in. :)  I love how small she is on the measuring stick.  We ended up not even finding a pumpkin because of all the other fun stuff she wanted to do.  I think we might have to go and get some pumpkins for realz this weekend!

Get ready to be photobombed by pumpkin patch pictures...

Such a big girl!

couldn't find the right pumpkin
