2012...Year of the baby

So much excitement for the year ahead!  The biggest part of 2012 being that LT and I are going to have a little girl to parent.  We are so excited!  Also, hoping for a new house in January...we have definitely been on the hunt.

I hope 2012 brings everyone health and happiness.  I have a feeling that it is going to be a great year!  Get ready people.

Happy New Year!!! I hope you party hardy...have a couple for me! :)

Last Year New Years Eve...Going to look a little different for me this year!

Pee every 30 mins?

No??  Well I do!  For some reason the past couple days I have to go pee every half hour.  This can be really annoying when you are trying to sleep.  Speaking of sleep...haven't been able to sleep thru the night for about 2 wks now.  I guess I am just getting prepped for the little bambino that is going to be keeping me awake all hours of the night in a few short months.  Can't wait!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all!  Well all the hype and preparation leads up to tomorrow!  I can't wait to wake up and spend time with family and enjoy the best time of the year.  I hope you all enjoy your holidays as well.

Santa is coming tonight! :)

4 days!!

This week has definitely made me feel like Christmas is around the corner.  I have been listening to Christmas music since Thanksgiving but it hadn't really sunk in for REALZ that Christmas was coming... and now it is coming this Sunday!!  SANTA!!!! :)

Sunday was our annual Ostrom Christmas.  It was filled with good food, good family and fun!  Grandpa O was a hit with the youngest members of the family passing out the $2 bills to the great grandkids.  Other happenings this week were dinner with some in laws, a Happy Hour with some great girls for a secret santa gift exchange at Purple in Bellevue and the annual Turner Men making some fatigmann norwegian cookies!

Now just one day until I am on Holiday vacation until the 28th!  Can't wait for a little relaxation!  I am going to try and sneak some serious Christmas movie time on Friday with these gems:

Be Merry Everyone!!!

Holiday Letter...

Well, 2011 was quite a year.  LT and I did lots of traveling, I got knocked up with a little bambino and had a lot of good memories that we will cherish forever.

Our travels lead us to Arizona for spring training and sunshine!  Let’s just say luck was in our favor this trip.  We sat behind the M’s dugout (thanks Granstons) and I got King Felix’s autograph.  We bought the cheap seats to a NBA basketball game and were upgraded to courtside seats with unlimited food and drinks for the Suns v. Thunder (old Sonics L) basketball game.  Thanks Aunt Lori and Uncle Jim for the hospitality!  We then made our way to Louisville for the 137th Kentucky Derby for my 30th birthday.  Check that off the bucket list!  It was AMAZING and my cousins, Chris and Susan, hooked it up with awesome tickets.  We continued our tradition every summer of going to Cannon Beach, OR.  We celebrated the 4th of July and Kristin’s 3oth surprise birthday at the beach house with good friends and family!  We then took on the HEAT of the east coast for a whirlwind trip of NYC, Boston, Jersey Shore and Washington, DC.  All great cities, with so much history!  We can’t forget the annual Red Neck Yacht Club party at Liberty Lake, WA.  Always a good time!  Last but not least we headed down to Sunny San Diego for LT's birthday.  Lots of fun and his first time in San Diego!!!  We also attended some fabulous weddings, awesome bachelorette parties (San Francisco & Chelan) and lots of birthdays and fun family gatherings.

In July, LT and I found out I was expecting.  We were thrilled and we are so excited to meet our little girl in March.  Being pregnant sure has had its ups and downs but I know it will be all ups when she arrives.  You are loved so much already, Baby Girl Turner!
Some big changes this year have been my move to work for Microsoft in the LCA Litigation Department. So far it has been a great experience and I enjoy my group. LT is still working at Rachel Carson Elementary as a 5th grade teacher. I completed the Susan G Komen 60 mile breast cancer walk in September with my mom. What an amazing and inspiring experience. Let's get rid of cancer!! We also took on the challenge of renting our condo and moving in with both sets of parents to save money for a house (which we are hoping to have in January or February. Cross your fingers!) Both set of parents have been very accommodating and so so generous with their homes and food. J We are very lucky.
We lost my grandma Ostrom to cancer in October. It happened quite quickly but we know that she is in a better place and will always be with us in spirit. She was 91 and lived a great, long life with my grandpa for 69 years! We will miss her giggles this Christmas.

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and holiday cheer! Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy NEW YEAR! We have a lot to look forward to in 2012 and can’t wait for all the adventures to begin.

With love,

The Turners

Strutting the waddle

I think I have fully converted my walk to waddle.  It is getting so hard to stand up from sitting/lying position.  It is now really starting to sink in that this little babe is going to be making an appearance in about 2 1/2 months!!  Now I just need to find a house, move, create a nursery and have a little girl all in that little time frame.  It's doable.

CRAMP!!!!

Never in my life have I woke up out of a dead sleep with a cramp in my leg as bad as I did this morning. I mean, I woke up screaming and yelling for LT. Of course he was already up and in the kitchen and didn't hear me. This pain lasted about a full minute! OMG it hurt soooooooo bad. I thought baby girl was coming early by the amount of pain I was in!! HOLY COW. My calf is still a little tender and there is a little knot but I hope that is the last of the cramps. WOW! The wonderful benefits of pregnancy. Can't wait to see what else this last trimester has to offer.

26

Belly is popping big time!  If I stand straight up and look down I cannot see my feet.  Baby Girl is getting so Big!  So far she has been treating me pretty good.  Only a few headaches here and there and I get pretty tired easily but other than that she has been an angel...knock on wood.

The last couple of weeks she has really found her power!  She can punch and kick with the best of them.  And you can see it!

Cravings are still: cereal, carmel machiatos(decaf), and fruit.
26 weeks
As I am getting closer to the due date, I am so anxious to see what she looks like! LT and I both had dreams that she had green eyes. So we will have to wait and see!

Molbacks at Christmas Time

Each year we try and make it to Molbacks to see all the Christmas decorations and the pretty Poinsetta tree.  See pics below!

Sassy's first Christmas!

Turner Family

Turkey Day

This post is a little late but we enjoyed our TWO Thanksgiving dinners this year!
Dinner at the Turners
The boys

Dylan, Ariana, Lance, Alex

Alex really was happy to be sitting on LT's lap.

After the Turners dinner we headed over to my Aunt Martha's.
Each year we play Michigan Rummy and this year my mom won the money pot in 3 HANDS.  Never been done before and she was really excited.  We continued to play until about 1AM and accumulated a lot of mula to be carried over to next year.  Next year I better win!
End of the night

Baby Girl T was very happy with all her meals this year!  She is excited for next year...she tried to tell me that she is going to win the money...I don't thinks so little girl!

Last Day of November?

Last time I checked I thought it was August!!  I can't believe how fast the months are flying by.  I am so excited for December and all the holiday parties, Christmas and our last year as a family of 2.  I am going to soak it up. :)  I am already listening to Christmas music all day on Pandora. SANTA is coming!!!
thx bing

On another note...baby girl is totally moving ALL.THE.TIME.  Is that normal?  I can see her move in my stomach and it is so amazing.  I can't wait to meet her.  Only about 3 more months!  WOAH.  We are going to have a daughter.

Just so you know when I post the bump pictures, the belly has gotten a ton bigger!  Get ready.

Family

I may be biased but I think that I have one of the best families around!  Even though my family, extended and inlaws, is so big but we are all so close.  If anything happens, good or bad, my family is there for support and will drop anything and come running.  I am blessed!

Sooo looking forward to the holidays and spending quality time with family.  Last year as a family of 2!!  I better soak it up. :)

TGIF

Tonight me, LT and preggers Beav and the Blalock Fam are going to tour Evergreen Hospital.  We are going to meet for mexican and then after the hospital tour, make a stop by DQ.  Sounds good to me.

Saturday I am going to see Breaking Dawn.  I heard it is corny.

Sunday we are remembering my Grandma O with all the Fam.  We sure do miss her already!!

BTW, today I had a cookie with frosting on it and a maple bar all before lunch.  Is that ok?  I hope so, because it was BOMB!

Happy FRIDAY!  Stay warm.

Baby & Bump

Yesterday I had my 24wk appointment and all is good in the hood. :)  She is growing at a normal weight and is at the 51%.  And boy is she a mover!  LT and I were watching her move in my stomach last night.  I think we may have an athlete on our hands!

Here are some pics of the growing bump....

Salish Lodge

Last Friday, LT and I went to the Salish Lodge for a little night getaway.  It was much needed after the weekend before of moving out of our Condo. (tear)

thx bing
It was a perfect.  The rooms there are sooo cozy and I think it is a great place to go during the fall/winter and just snuggle up by your fire.  We woke up and had breakfast overlooking the falls and then in the afternoon we each had massages.  Mine was a Mellow Mama Massage.  It was AMAZING.  They put me in the fireside room for my massage and it was great!  If you need a little getaway this is a nice spot to go and get some serious R&R in.

Happy Friday Peeps!  SO glad the weekend is here.

Dreams

So lately my dreams have been so real and vivid that I am able to remember almost everything that happens when I wake up.  I hear it's because I am preggers and the dreams can get really random!!

A couple nights ago this guy was in my dream.  If you know me you are probably thinking "why not NKOTB???"  Not sure why he was the subject of this crazy dream...but he was. :)

thx bing for enrique pic

Luckily my dreams haven't been filled with scary things.  I wonder what I will dream about tonight???

Grandma Ostrom

"Grandma always made you feel she had been waiting to see just you all day and now the day was complete." ~Marcy DeMaree

That quote is a perfect way to describe my grandma.  Whether you showed up unannounced or she knew you were coming she would always be sooo happy to see her grandchildren.  "Would you like a 7-up or a Root Beer?"  would always be her first question. :)  If you said no thanks she would ask you again in about 20 mins just to be sure.  After catching up on what was going on in your life she would catch you up on what was happening in our family.  Family was everything to her.  With 8 kids(including in laws), 16 grand kids + 2 soon to be in laws and 8 great grand kids +1 on the way she loved being around us!!

My grandma was always the life of the party. She was born on the 4th of July and you would think that the US was celebrating her birthday not the other way around!  She would start the dance party and even at 90 would get out there and dance!  She never disappointed when she showed up in her RED, WHITE and BLUE outfits.

Cannon Beach has always been a staple in the Ostrom Family and my grandparents loved going!
The Whole Ostrom Gang at Cannon Beach!
Some of the Ostrom Fam on her birthday 2011

When I worked a couple of blocks away from my grandparents house I would go to lunch there every Thursday.  I knew what to expect, a ham sandwich with a lot of mayo! :)  This was our special time together since it was just me and her.  And she did tell me I was one of her favorites...haha family if you are reading this!  We would chat for an hour and she would say see you next Thursday!

She even made it on the cover of Women's World! (her fav magazine)
My grandma had the biggest personality and heart.  She also had amazing legs...I am not kidding.  Her legs at 91 looked like a 30 year old persons legs!  I hope I inherit that from her among other things. :)  She had an amazing sense of humor and would get the whole family laughing so hard that we all had tears!  She would come to your aid if you were sick, go to your sports games, all your graduations and support you in your career choices.  She was one amazing person and the best grandma I could ever have asked for.

Grandma,
I know you were greeted with open arms by your daughter, our aunt Jill, your son-in-law, our uncle John, and your sister, our great aunt Jackie.  I am sure you guys have a lot to catch up on and will have some laughs.
I love you and miss you already!  I always thought you would outlive us all.  I am so happy that I was able to share the news of your new great grandchild that will be arriving in March.  She is going to know all about her Great Grandma O!!!  I know you will be looking down on all of us and will be with us in spirit for the rest of our lives.
Love, YFGD ;)
